At the Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods-College (SMWC), we believe mentorship is key to unlocking student-athletes’ full potential—both on the field and in their future careers.
Our eMentoring program offers a flexible, dynamic way to build meaningful professional relationships through virtual engagement and intentional in-person connection.
We believe that even the smallest commitment can ignite profound change. As a mentor, we ask you to dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per month to guide and support your student-athlete—a modest investment of time with immeasurable impact.
This commitment is a starting point, not a limit. Many mentors find such joy in their role that they naturally choose to give more—attending games, organizing workshops, or fostering deeper connections. Every extra moment you invest amplifies your mentee’s potential and strengthens our community’s fabric.
Each student-athlete is matched with a dedicated mentor who provides individualized support and guidance. Mentors are recruited from diverse backgrounds, including alumni, community leaders, professionals, and faculty members. Matching is based on factors such as shared interests, career aspirations, and personality compatibility.
Weekly message exchanges via a secure platform allow for consistent guidance on career goals, skill development, and industry insights.
Mentors and mentees meet once per semester in person to deepen their relationship, discuss career pathways and goals, and celebrate achievements.
Connect anytime, anywhere, while still fostering authentic relationships. The program provides a structured framework with clear expectations and guidelines for mentors and mentees.
Mentors and mentees are encouraged to develop their own unique relationship within the program guidelines.
